THANKSGIVING AND BAPTISMS

Stained glass window

‘I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it. And He took the children in His arms, put His hands upon them and blessed them.’ [Mark 10: 15-16]

We wish to celebrate with you the joy and the gift of new birth. We also want to help everyone know and grow up in the Christian faith and in their relationship with Jesus, whatever our age!

We regularly baptise both adults and children in the church. For children in their earliest years, we always hold a Thanksgiving first within our main morning service, as an act of celebration and blessing for the family.

The Baptism service itself is a lovely occasion and comes later and it has very clear and profound vows and promises. For those parents who do not yet feel ready to make such a Christian commitment on behalf of themselves or their child but would still like to celebrate the life of their new offspring, we suggest that the Thanksgiving service itself is the best way forward.
